New World Power of US sells interest in Bellacorick

American wind developer New World Power has signed an agreement to sell its controlling interest in the Bellacorick wind farm in Ireland to Bord Na Mona, one of its Irish partners in the project, for $2.7 million. The deal, which must gain statutory approval, was expected to close in late April, the wind company states. New World expects to use the money to repay debts to Sundial, one of its two main corporate debt holders. New World Power Corp has joined up with senior partner Dominion Bridge Corp, the major construction company of Montreal, Canada.
