Upgrade from private company status

Turbine maker DeWind Technik is now registered as a public limited company under the name DeWind Aktiengesellschaft. DeWind management owns 65% of the company, Berlin-based investment company BMP owns 25% and Mannheim utility MVV 10%. The upgrade from private company status is part of DeWind's growth strategy. "Much more business will be done abroad and this required changes in the company structure," says new chairman, Hugo L Schippmann. The firm was founded in 1995 and turned over DEM 70 million in 1998/99. It expects to double turnover this fiscal year.
