Repower assuming leading role in French market

With firm orders for 70 turbines to be installed in 2005 and 17 so far in 2006, Germany's Repower says it is assuming a leading role in France, one of its core markets. The majority of orders are for its 2 MW unit. Work has started on installing 58 machines. The first to come online will be a single 2 MW turbine at Gavray in Normandy this month, followed by a 12 MW plant at Reffroy in Lorraine and 9 MW at Noyal-Pontivy in Brittany in July. The biggest contract is for 16 turbines at the Le Haut des Ailes site, also in Lorraine, which is scheduled for completion in December. Repower has installed 19 machines, totalling 31.5 MW, in France to date.
