Nantucket's wind to be monitored

The wind on the New England island of Nantucket is to be monitored by Second Wind Inc of Boston under contract to the Massachusetts Division of Energy Resources. The island has a yearly average wind speed of 7-10 m/s. The state is expected to have a market of as much as 700 MW of wind by 2010 (Windpower Monthly, February 1994).
