300 MW of wind to be installed in Oregon by Kenetech

As much as 300 MW of wind may be installed by Kenetech Windpower in eastern Oregon, confirms the company's Bud Grebey who says a permit is being requested for that amount. The first 100 MW of the project, near Pendleton in Umatilla County, has already been short-listed by utility Portland General Electric (Windpower Monthly, February 1994). But easements and planning permission, as well as power purchase contracts, have yet to be secured for the $100 million complex.
