SUBSIDY REGULATIONS

Regulations governing this last year of capital subsidies for wind plant in the Netherlands were still awaited in mid March. The news so far is that subsidies this year will be derived from multiplying rotor diameter by 290 to get the final sum in Dutch guilders. The rated capacity of the turbine will no longer be included in the equation. The total amount available this year for support of wind power is NLG 33 million. To be eligible for subsidy, applicants must have obtained all the necessary permits from local government, must use an officially certified turbine design and, for the first time, must have agreed grid connection with a utility.
