In the face of increasingly hostile reporting in Australia's press, media training was on offer to delegates -- an option no one signed up for. In the light of that sorry response, perhaps it was just as well that aside from Windpower Monthly, the only Australian press at the conference were local television crews and reporters from two Launceston papers. Their focus was firmly on the opening speech of Tasmania's new prime minister, Paul Lennon, rather than the merits, or not, of wind power.
