German economy and employment minister Wolfgang Clement will from next year include wind and other renewables in the broad promotion of German technology abroad. The United States, Australia, China, Brazil, Japan, Spain, Italy and Hungary have been identified by the renewables industry as particularly suitable target countries where "a high potential of unused natural resources coupled with relatively low investment and operating costs would allow economic operation of decentralised energy supply technologies." In many of these countries technical infrastructure is being renewed, "which means the intermediate step of modernising with conventional technologies can be left out, which moves us straight into use of the most modern renewable technologies," states the ministry.
