Gotland gets 4% electricity from wind

The island of Gotland in the Baltic now gets 4% of it's electricity from wind and will have increased this to 5% by the end of the year. One in ten of Gotland's citizens is now a shareholder in a wind plant, with many more anxious to join wind co-operatives. Wind power provides well over 10% of domestic electricity -- a cement factory at Slite consumes 40% of all power produced on the island.
