New stamp issued featuring Castle River wind plant

Canada's wind energy industry has made a unique imprint on the daily lives of Canadians with Canada Post Corporation's issue of a new C$0.51 stamp featuring a photo of Vision Quest Windelectric's Castle River Wind Farm in southern Alberta. The stamp is one of a series of five that features the Canadian flag flying over scenic locations in the Yukon, Prince Edward Island, Manitoba, Alberta and New Brunswick. "We hoped to suggest the strong relationship Canadians have with nature, from our interest in environmentally friendly resources, such as wind turbines, to our historical connection with animals, like the dogsled team," says Doreen Colonello of Toronto's Gottschalk+Ash International, the firm behind the designs.
