Utility ONE suspends bidding for Tangiers 140 MW wind farm

Morocco's utility, the Office National de l'Electricité (ONE), has suspended its bidding process for the 140 MW Tangiers wind farm. A call for tenders was launched in August 2000 and the bidders whittled down to two: Union Fenosa of Spain and the international Groupement Oismine/Enercorp/Vestas. ONE says it is looking for a new source of finance for the project and still intends to build the wind farm.
