Republican presidential candidate and Texas Governor George W Bush did not miss the opportunity of the inauguration of Texas' largest wind farm in July to get his name in the media. Praise from Bush-in which he congratulates the companies involved for "creating jobs, promoting new technologies and responding to customers' calls for increased use of renewable energy sources"-was repeated at the opening ceremony of the 75 MW Southwest Mesa project. "The worthwhile project is proof that a strong economy and efforts to ensure a clean environment can go and in hand." Bush's comments were broadcast by Alphonso Jackson of Central and South West Corporation (CSW), which is buying electricity from the project of NEG Micon turbines, owned by FPL Energy Inc.
