New Power Guide

After almost fifteen years a second -- revised -- edition of The Power Guide has been published. The almost 300 page guide and international catalogue of small scale energy equipment contains a general introduction on the social and economic aspects of the various technologies followed by comprehensive listings of equipment and suppliers. The chapter on wind power gives information on wind pumps (viable at wind speeds of 3-4 m/s according to the authors) and wind generators. A list of about 100 suppliers of wind pumps and turbines of up to 100 kW capacity follows. The guide is a result of a collaborative effort between the Technology Development Group of the University of Twente in the Netherlands and Intermediate Technology Publications in London. The Power Guide, ISBN 185339 192 1, is Published by Intermediate Technology Publications Ltd, 103-105 Southampton Row, London WC1B 4HH, UK.
