Kobe steel to make and market GET design

GET Gesellschaft für Energietechnik and Autoflug Energietechnik, now operating together as a single wind turbine manufacturer, signed a co-operation contract in March with Kobe Steel, one of the biggest industrial enterprises in Japan. The deal is for the import of GET turbines by Kobe and their introduction to the Japanese market and later to the whole of east Asia, including China, GET reports. At the moment the small Japanese market is in the hands of Micon and Mitsubishi, says GET, but the firm expects a rapid development of the wind market over the next few years. The first GET41 600 kW machines will be installed this year, the Rendsburg based company says. Eventually, a second stage of co-operation is planned. A licensing deal with be struck for the production of GET plant by Kobe.
