In Denmark 113 wind turbine owners declared their support last month for the foundation of a joint company for the sale of "green power credits" by injecting DKK 135,962 into a holding account by mid April. Under Denmark's electricity market liberalisation law, owners of wind plant will receive green credits as part payment for their electricity. The credits will be traded for cash on a market driven by an obligation on all consumers to buy a percentage of their power from renewables. The aim of the "Wind Turbine Owners Energy Company" is to secure Danish wind turbine owners "as much manoeuvrability as possible on the green credit market once it starts."
