Wind interests are well-represented on the new Renewables Advisory Board set up by energy minister Brian Wilson to advise government on the action it needs to take to facilitate green power growth. Nine out of 18 members of the board are actively involved in wind energy. The board's aims are to improve deployment of renewables in the UK, improve competitiveness of the UK industry, and increase exports. The board held its first full meeting in November and is expected to make specific recommendations to government by summer 2003.
