India's cumulative generation reaches 8.6 billion kWh

The cumulative generation from wind turbines installed in India up to the end of March reached 8.66 billion kWh. This has avoided the use of 3.5 million tons of coal and cut emissions of carbon dioxide, sulphur dioxide, and particulates by 56,000, 8.7 million, and 4700 tons, respectively, reports the government. A total of 476 wind monitoring stations have been established for wind resource assessment. So far 219 stations have already shown wind power density of over 150 W/m2 at 30 metres above ground level.
