Nordex will supply 11 N117 3.6MW turbines to the Midtfjellet III project, having previously delivered turbines to the first two phases, totalling 110MW, in 2012 and 2013.

Delivery for the latest 39.6MW phase is scheduled for spring 2018, with completion expected by the end of the year.

"Together Midtfjellet I and II are the largest wind farms in Norway, with very high production figures. The site is extremely demanding due to the perfect wind conditions," said Nordex chief sales officer Patxi Landa.

Nordex said the average wind speed at the first two projects is rougly 8.4m/s.

The Midtfjellet Vindkraft consortium comprises German investment firm Aquila Capital and local energy suppliers and project operators Fitjar Kraftlag, Ostfold Energi Vind and Vardar Boreas.

Aquila bought in to the complex in December 2015.
