GE has named Peter McCabe as McEntee's successor at the onshore wind division. McCabe has been with GE for 22 years, previously as vice president of its global services organisation in the transportation business.

In her newly created role, McEntee is tasked with expanding service agreements and to discover new OEM services "creating new value for customers and more productivity for the business", GE Renewable Energy said.

"The creation of a services offering is critical for our business to be even smarter, more efficient and faster," said GE Renewable Energy CEO Jerome Pecresse.

"I am confident that under Anne's leadership our dedicated service business will continue to grow and I know that Pete, with his strategic problem-solving and willingness to embrace disruptive technology, is well suited to keep our onshore wind business on this positive track," he added.

McEntee was appointed onshore CEO at GE in 2013, having worked at the company since 1998.
