The Carbon Clean 200 list was compiled by clean energy research firm Corporate Knights using data from Bloomberg New Energy Finance.
The companies on the list are publicly listed, with a market capitalisation of $1 billion and generate 10% of their revenues from clean energy, the report said.
Utilities with less then 50% renewables were excluded. The companies on the list have a collective value of more than €1 trillion.
Siemens was ranked second in the list, behind car manufacturer Toyota. Vestas (7th), ABB (9th), Dong Energy (11th) and Gamesa (18th) were also listed near the top of the list.
Longyuan (25th) and Dongfang (71st) also featured, with Chinese firms making up one third of the list.
