The two companies will work on creating more precise wind resource assessments and wind power forecasts.

The partnership will be able to provide site specific power forecasts by combining WindSim's software with Met Office's Wind Production Forecast model.

WindSim said the partnership was created to meet industry demands for improved long and short-term data.

Analytics will help wind project developers select the best sites both onshore and offshore.

Stephen Norman, renewable energy consultant from the Met Office said, "In the future our customers are going to require more accurate data and reliable forecasting services to successfully developm generate and trade wind energy."
