Many of the people on this list owe their position to the influence of their company. In Tulsi's case, it is down to Suzlon-subsidiary Senvion, a top-ten manufacturer in its own right and major offshore player.

With this in mind there is a strong argument that Senvion CEO Andreas Nauen should be in this space. However, Tanti is in overall control as evident by his stated plan to release some much-needed cash for Suzlon by floating Senvion on the London Stock Exchange. And he deserves some credit for renegotiating the group's debts and postponing payback of a $560 million bond.
