The new facility will be operational from October and be a base for the company’s project management, environment and health and safety teams.

The new office will also be a logistics base for Siemens in the UK and Ireland and it is recruiting people now to fill vacancies at the new site, which will have the capacity for 30 people.

Grant Walker, Siemens Onshore Wind UK and Ireland managing director, said: "This is a crucial strategic step for Siemens Onshore Wind, consolidating our commitment to Scotland as a key market and ensuring we meet our obligations to employment and the economy in the United Kingdom."

Siemens employs 600 people in Scotland and said its investment in Livingston would support 100 new wind related jobs in the country.
