This is Erciyas’ first wind project, which will be using 16 Vestas’ V112-3.3MW turbines.

The 52MW Kavakli RES project will be installed in the province of Balikesir, western Turkey, and is due to be delivered in the first quarter of 2014 with commissioning expected later in the year.

Emre Erciyas, vice chairman of Erciyas Çelik Boru, said: "The Kavakli RES wind power plant is an exciting first for us and we are thrilled to start this adventure with Vestas’ support and knowledge."

Olcayto Yigit, Vestas Turkey general manager, said: "We are glad to have the opportunity to support Erciyas Çelik Boru in their first wind power investment in the country. We welcome their interest and commitment to wind energy that will support Turkey in reaching its ambitious target for renewable energy sources."
