The deal includes a five-year service agreement with the installation and commissioning of the turbines scheduled for 2014.

Operational wind capacity in the Philippines currently stands at only 33MW but is set to expand rapidly in the next few years with the government setting a 500MW target by 2020.

The Siemens announcement comes less than a month after Vestas was commissioned for an 87MW deal.

"We are delighted to have won our first order in the Philippines to support the further development of its renewable energy," said Siemens Wind Power Asia Pacific CEO Kay Weber.
