Sway Turbine has been developing its ST10 10MW turbine since 2005. The machine features a direct drive permanent magnet generator and is designed for challenging class I (10 m/s+) conditions.

The ST10 features a 164-metre rotor. However the blades are shorter than conventional turbines, resulting in around 40%-50% less mass.

In terms of servicing, components can be inspected and changed via an onboard crane. The company is currently seeking development partners.
