CLWP owns seven projects, located in the municipalities of Umburanas and Sento Fe, with a combined capacity of around 206MW.
The company also has a development pipeline of 150MW in the same region, which will be acquired for $7 million.
Speaking about the deal, the company said: "This operation is in line with the strategy of both Tractebel Energia and GDF Suez in expanding its generating complex from complementary resources, ramping up the company’s sustainable growth in Brazil through renewable energy projects."
Last year, utility Tractebel Energia announced investments of BRL 625 million ($397 million) in five wind projects, aiming to sell in the non-regulated market.
