Desenvix retreats from Sinovel court order

The order was filed following Septembers contract between Desenvix and Sinovel for 23 1.5MW wind turbines. The orders sought to determine if imported Sinovel turbines contained intellectual property allegedly stolen from AMSC.

Desenvix said the order had been withdrawn as Sinovel had proved the control system technology used in the turbine was provided by US company Emerson Electric. It also highlighted its contract with control system provider Mita-Teknik.

AMSC, which is currently immersed in a multi-million dollar legal battle with Sinvoel, also filed a court order.

Jason Fredette, AMSC vice president, marketing and communications, said: "Sinovel was asked months ago to provide evidence that the wind turbines they shipped to Desenvix did not contain stolen intellectual property.

"This is a simple verification process that, even as of today, seemingly has not been completed, which further raises doubts. We continue to work with Desenvix and through the courts as necessary to obtain independent verification."
