The Ponikve wind farm, which is located northwest of Dubrovnik, will use E70 2.3MW turbines. It is Wpd's third project in the country.
The €45 million project is part-financed by KfW IPEX and through the KfW renewables programme.
Speaking about the deal, Wpd CEO Dr. Hartmut Brösamle said: "Two weeks ago, works for the foundations began and the turbines will be on site in the spring of 2012; grid connection is set for the third quarter of the year.
"We are confident that we will be able to implement the extensive approvals in a short period of time so that we can put the turbines into operation until the end of next year."
According to Windpower Monthly's Windicator, Croatia has a wind energy capacity of 69MW.
