Suzlon receives 100MW order from Orient Green Power

INDIA: Suzlon has won a contract for 48 of its S95 2.1MW wind turbines -- part of the S9X suite which was launched in April.

The order is from independent renewable-energy company Orient Green Power Company Limited. The INR650 ($143 million) deal will see 50MW come online in Gujarat by May 2012 and the remaining 50MW in Karnataka by June of that year.

The S95 is designed for medium-wind-speed sites.

Orient Green Power has recently commissioned its low- to medium-wind-speed turbines from Vestas, commissioning 64MW over the last year for two projects in Tamil Nadu.
