The company is planning to open two research and development centres, and an offshore ‘centre of excellence’ in Denmark.
Siemens Wind Power CEO, Jens-Peter Saul said further factories were planned in the UK, Canada, Russia and India.
Speaking about the move, Siemens Wind Power chief technology officer Henrik Stiesdal said the R&D centres’ work would include its direct drive and the new ‘Quantum’ blade.
Saul said: "Our investments in R&D and the extension of production facilities will pave the road for our global expansion."
The R&D centres will be in Brande and Aalborg. The offshore centre will be in Vejle.
