Suzlon announces 4.6 percent Q4 rise

INDIA: Suzlon Group sales over the fourth quarter have risen by 4.6 percent with the company predicting this year’s sales will rise substantially.

Suzlon Group also posted an EBIT profit of $172 million and a revenue of $1.6 billion. Suzlon chairman Tulsi Tanti said the company’s performance in the Indian market had played a large part in its performance.

Tanti said: "Our focus on emerging and key developed markets, along with offshore, is paying dividends with a robust order book and a strong pipeline of projects under discussion. The India market, in particular, has delivered tremendous growth."

Suzlon said it had a group-wide order book of 4,639MW with 4GW taken over the last year. This has included projects in countries including Canada, Brazil, UK, US and offshore.

A large proportion of the orders outside of India are for Repower, which is set to come under full Suzlon ownership.

Earlier this year, Suzlon launched its S9X range of turbines, for low-to-medium wind speed conditions.
