Canadian wind projects receive government funding

CANADA: Two wind energy projects in Canada have been selected to receive support as part of a series of government investments totalling $63.8 million.

The 30MW Digby Neck wind farm in Nova Scotia will receive $9.2 million through the Canadian government's $1.48 billion ecoENERGY for Renewable Power program.

Also, the Cowessess First Nation’s wind storage demonstration project in Saskatchewan will receive $2.79 million from the Clean Energy Fund for carbon capture and storage and renewable energy demonstration projects.

The project will involve the installation of a wind turbine and battery storage system on Cowessess land near Regina.

They are among 16 projects across Canada which have received funding.
