Nordex sells 37.5MW of French wind projects

FRANCE: As part of a move to strengthen its development activities in France, German turbine manufacturer Nordex has announced the sale of three wind farms totalling 37.5MW it developed on a turnkey basis.

The 12.5MW Tilleuls plant, in the Indre department of central France, was sold to SEM Energies Renouvelables, a company comprising private and public investors in the form of local municipalities and the region.

The banks providing the finance are also shareholders, according to Nordex. "`Tilleuls´ can serve as a good example for other municipalities to follow by also investing in wind projects", says Gerd von Bassewitz, Managing Director of Nordex France.

Allianz Specialised Investments, part of the Allianz Group, bought a 12.5MW plant at Campbon, near Nantes in the Loire-Atlantique Region. The relationship between the two companies dates back to 2009, when Allianz bought a 12.5MW development in the Aisne region of northern France.

Since then Allianz has bought a further six plant from Nordex, including the recent purchase, with a combined total of 71MW.

Finally, the privately owned JMA Energies bought 12.5MW at Plomodiern in Finistère. The company already owns the nearby Cast I facility (10MW), which was also developed and built by Nordex.

The three plant were all built in 2009 and feature Nordex 2.5MW turbines.
