The nine participants bidding to build, own and operate the project have chosen GL Garrad Hassan to conduct a wind-measurement campaign to start this month.
The monitoring period is expected to run for a minimum of 12 months, with wind speed analysis and energy assessment to follow to support the individual bids of the shortlisted developers.
The scheme, part of a plan to generate 20% of Egypt's energy from renewables by 2020, is the first private-sector BOO wind project in the country.
