Elements to encourage the achievement of the 2020 goals include continued support schemes for electricity production from renewables, introduction of a mandatory share of renewable energy in district heating systems, simplifying of procedures for investments in renewables, introduction of incentives and appropriate financial mechanisms, and measures for research and development and education and training.
Currently, the guaranteed purchase price for electricity from renewables is EUR95.38/MWh. But there is no installed wind capacity and no wind projects in the pipeline.
By 2020, the installed renewable energy capacity will reach almost 1.7GW, with 105MW from wind. Production will total 6,126GWh a year, of which 190GWh will come from wind. The guaranteed purchase price for electricity produced from wind power will be EUR95.38/MWh.
