Windwire: Danish firm signs up local partner

BRAZIL: Brazilian manufacturer Tecnometal has signed an agreement to produce wind turbines for the South and Central American markets.

The ten-year deal, with Danish wind turbine company Norwin, covers sales, production and installation. It was finalised after the Danish firm, with the Confederation of Danish Industry, searched for suitable Brazilian partners. Tecnometal is based in Belo Horizonte in the Minas Gerais state and has 1,200 employees. Norwin executive director, Ole Sangil, says: "Having great expertise within production, we expect to get started soon and to obtain high-quality supplies from our Brazilian partner."
