According to Zhou Ya, deputy director of Shanghai Municipal Development and Reform Committee, the project has moved on to the design phase.

The first stage of the Shanghai East Sea Bridge Wind Farm, the first offshore wind farm in the country located to the east side of the bridge, is having the 100MW turbines debugged.

All the 34 sets of 3MW turbines will be connected to power grid before the end of June.
Mr. Zhou said that the costs of land-based wind farms average 6,000-8,000 yuan/kw.
