Cannon currently has around 1GW of projects in the pipeline in the state. The first phase of construction of Aubanel, the first project, will be completed over the next 12 months. Eventually Cannon aims for the Aubanel project's capacity to be around 500MW, with the whole Baja California projects stretching over 140 square miles. Speaking about the deal, Dirk Matthys, Gamesa's CEO in North America, says: "Cannon Power Group is one of the most experienced wind project developers in the renewable energy market. This exciting new relationship will further strengthen Gamesa's leadership in the Mexican market, where we already have a substantial presence."
Wind Wire: Gamesa to supply for 1GW of projects
MEXICO: Gamesa and wind developer Cannon Power Group have signed a ten-year exclusive agreement for the Spanish manufacturer to supply turbines for its projects in Baja California.
