Wind Wire: Finland - Laws to protect marine and bird life

Finland needs strict and credible laws to regulate for the building of offshore windfarms that have the potential to negatively impact on the marine and bird life of the country's extensive archipelago regions, says Torten Sternberg, chairman of the World Wildlife Fund Finland's sea-life protection committee. "Offshore wind farms pose an urgent threat to invaluable archipelago areas," he says. "We must have regulating laws in Finland that protect our wildlife in these natural areas."
