Wind Wire: United States - Worker injured at reservation site

A worker at the Kumeyaay wind farm on the Campo Indian Reservation near San Diego was airlifted from the development after receiving an electric shock.

According to the San Diego Union Tribune, the worker at the wind farm, which features 25 Gamesa 2MW turbines, was one of three people hurt in the incident. One of the other two was taken to hospital by ambulance. The incident occurred in the nacelle of a turbine, according to the newspaper. A spokesman for BluArc, which manages the wind farm, says an investigation into the cause is under way. The wind farm was temporarily shut down.
